At Jupiter Medical Center, we understand how important it is to have a support system to help you cope, whether you are dealing with an illness or condition, or you are a caregiver. We offer a variety of support groups, including cancer support groups, women's issues and diabetes support groups, which are available throughout the year to help you through your difficulties. We encourage you to join our groups and take an active role - you can help yourself and others!

Cancer Support Groups
Bereavement Support Group: An ongoing support group for anyone who has lost a loved one or for anticipatory grief (does not have to be a cancer-related loss), and desires to share feelings and experiences with others in a loving and supportive environment. Location: Meeting Room #3, 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. Meeting dates in 2010: September 6 and 20, October 4 and 18, November 1 and 15, December 6 and 20.
NEW! Cancer Survivorship Series: Caring for yourself and keeping open access with the network that contributes to your care. Guest presenters. Meets the first Thursday of each month in Meeting Room One, 6 - 7:30pm. A light meal will be served. Please RSVP to 561-745-4351.
Kidz Korner: For children ages 5 - 12 whose parent or loved ones are affected by cancer with activities geared toward the appropriate expression of feelings. Meets the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month in the Foshay Cancer Center, 2nd Floor Lobby, 3 - 4 p.m. Meetings will be held throughout the summer
Living with Breast Cancer Support Group: Features an open discussion and/or speakers. Meets the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month in the Foshay Cancer Center, 1st Floor Lobby, 7 - 8 p.m.
Look Good, Feel Better: Skin care, makeup techniques and hair care for patients undergoing treatment. A beautiful cosmetic kit is provided, along with expert tips from a salon professional. In partnership with the American Cancer Society. Meets the 1st Monday of every month in the Foshay Cancer Center, 2nd Floor, Conference Room, 10 a.m. - 12 noon. Please RSVP to 561-745-4351.
Ostomy Support Group: Support group for those dealing with any type of ostomy. Meets the 2nd Sunday of every month in Meeting Room One, 2 p.m. Contact Stephanie Sullivan for more information, 561-707-2135.

Diabetes Support Group
Diabetes Adult Support Group: Meets the 3rd Thursday of the month, bi-monthly (January, March, May, July, September), 6 p.m. - 7 p.m., Mangrove Bay Adult Living Community, 110 US Highway One, Jupiter, Fl. Insulin Pump Support Groups are also held at Jupiter Medical Center's Diabetes Education Department. Adult Community Activities are also hosted throughout the year such as cooking demonstrations, low vision therapy and for 'Diabetes Alert Day.' Sleep Center Support Group
A.W.A.K.E. (Alert Well and Keeping Energetic): An ongoing support group for patients with sleep apnea. Meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. in Meeting Room One, year-round during the months of September through May. Call the JMC Sleep Center at 561-744-4478 for more information.
Alzheimer's Support Group
The Pavilion at Jupiter Medical Center hosts a monthly Alzheimer's Support Group for families and caregivers of dementia and Alzheimer's patients in the community. Meetings take place on the first Wednesday of each month, from 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. at the Pavilion. For more information or to make a reservation, please call The Pavilion at 561-744-4444.
Surgical Weight Loss Support Group
A support group for Surgical Weight Loss patients and their family members that includes discussions on a variety of topics. Frequently, guest speakers such as Psychologists, Cosmetic Surgeons and Nutritionists are invited to attend. The group meets from 6 - 7 p.m. each month, during the Surgical Weight Loss monthly lecture, in the Auxiliary Board Room located in the modular building next to the Foshay Cancer Center. Smoking Cessation Support Group
Explore your willpower and set a quit date! A 7-week support program for quitting tobacco. Fee charged for workbook materials. American Lung Assocation Gold Standard Model - Freedom From Smoking. Stroke Support Groups
Pavilion
The road to stroke recovery can be long and winding for both survivors and support partners. Join us at the Pavilion the 1st Wednesday of every month from 6 - 8 p.m. with a focus on education, rehabilitation, mental health, and camaraderie. Call 561-744-4444 ext. 3798 for information.
