We Are Here for You, Ready, & Open for Care

With Phase I of the reopening of Florida underway, Jupiter Medical Center has resumed providing ‘elective’ procedures, surgeries and treatments. For the millions of patients across the country who have been patiently waiting to receive treatment for a variety of chronic illnesses, diseases and injuries, this resumption comes as a tremendous relief.

For Jupiter Medical Center, we have diligently prepared and are pleased to get back to doing what we do best – providing a full continuum of inpatient and outpatient medical services so vital to the well-being of our community.

It is challenging to deal with a medical crisis at any time. We also understand that the current situation may be adding another layer of anxiety and reluctance in seeking treatment. We want the residents of Palm Beach County and the greater Treasure Coast community to know that Jupiter Medical Center, as always, is here to help them and their loved ones receive care in the safest of environments.

For consumers of healthcare, we know that trust is most important in making healthcare decisions; trust in knowing they have the right physician and clinical team directing their care and trust that the medical center where they are undergoing treatment has taken every preventative measure to ensure their safety and well-being.

“Elective” Surgeries Are Medically Necessary

When people hear the word “elective” surgery, their first thought may be that these treatments aren’t critically important. The reality is quite the opposite.

“Elective” procedures encompass a wide range of procedures used to treat chronic conditions, relieve pain, restore mobility, improve health, and dramatically impact quality and length of life. These procedures include cardiovascular surgeries, pediatric surgeries, gynecological surgeries, orthopedic surgical procedures, such as hip and knee replacements, spinal surgery, comprehensive stroke, colonoscopies and other procedures to diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions.

For the many patients in our community who have not been able to receive care during this time for conditions such as heart failure, heart rhythm disorders, diabetes and asthma, their conditions have gone untreated and may have worsened. The resumption of “elective” procedures also means that patients who need preventative care such as screenings, mammograms, and other forms of diagnostic imaging now have access to identify and treat diseases at an early stage before they progress.

Safety, Quality & Patient Satisfaction as Our Highest Priorities

Jupiter Medical Center has a longstanding reputation for providing the highest level of safety and quality in our region. We have received national recognition and accreditations, including recently receiving an “A” safety grade from The Leapfrog Group for the Spring of 2020 and the highly coveted 4-star safety and quality rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

Over the past several months, we have implemented comprehensive safety measures that include screening anyone who enters the hospital, restricting visitors, and using other protective equipment per CDC recommendations. We have altered check-in and waiting room procedures to allow for social distancing.

We have also deployed state-of-the-art technologies to create the safest possible healthcare environment. We are the only hospital in the region using Care.ai facial scanning systems at each entrance to check the body temperature of anyone entering the hospital, including patients, vendors, physicians and all of our team members. As the only hospital in Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast to use this innovative technology, Jupiter Medical Center can detect anyone with a fever, more accurately and prevent them from entering the hospital and eliminating any potential contact between patients and team members.

To sterilize all of our patient rooms and procedure areas, Jupiter Medical Center is also the only medical center in Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast to have fully deployed TruD SmartUVC ultra-violet disinfection robots, which use UV-light technology to eliminate viruses and pathogens on surfaces. Having used this technology for more than four years, Jupiter Medical Center is at the forefront of innovation in utilizing safety and quality technologies. These investments and practices have enabled us to maintain our number one position in Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast for safety, quality and patient satisfaction.

As we move forward in the “new” normal, we are confident that the safety measures we have taken will reassure those in our community to seek the help and treatment they need during this time. As always in times of need, Jupiter Medical Center and the remarkable #HealthCareHeroes that serve our community with distinction and honor are ready to serve those in our community who need our help the most.
