Lara Brown, APRN, Achieves Prestigious Certification from American Society of Breast Surgeons

JUPITER, Fla. – May 23, 2024 – Jupiter Medical Center is proud to announce that Lara Brown, APRN, has successfully completed the American Society of Breast Surgeons Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Breast Disease Certification Program. This rigorous and newly established certification sets a high standard. Notably, Brown is one of just 11 individuals from Florida and one of 230 advanced practice providers nationwide having achieved this credential.

The APP Breast Disease Certification Program encompasses comprehensive education through seven specialized modules. These modules cover risk assessment, genetics, breast imaging, pathology, benign disease, surgery - oncoplastic breast surgery, anesthesia and pain management, medical oncology, radiation oncology, supervisorship, palliative care, ethics and professionalism, core measures, and clinical trials. Designed exclusively for nurse practitioners and physician assistants who are American Society of Breast Surgeons affiliate members, the program enhances participants' credentials and promotes significant professional growth.

Brown is a board-certified advanced practice registered nurse and part of the Comprehensive Breast Care Team at Jupiter Medical Center and provides high quality, compassionate treatment and education to women facing breast cancer to ensure seamless continuity of care and optimal surgical outcome. In addition, Brown manages benign breast disease, breast pain, and those in need of high-risk breast screening surveillance.
