Highest ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group

Jupiter, FL – November 18, 2024 -Jupiter Medical Center has earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade, the highest safety grade from The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit watchdog focused on patient safety. Jupiter Medical Center is the only hospital in the Palm Beach and Martin County region to receive the “A” rating.

Leapfrog evaluates over 2,600 general hospitals nationwide by assigning a grade from "A" to "F." This assessment is based on more than 30 performance measures that reflect incidents such as errors, accidents, injuries, and infections, as well as the preventive systems that hospitals have implemented.

“Safety is one of the top priorities for patients when deciding where to receive care,” said Amit Rastogi, MD, MHCM, President and CEO of Jupiter Medical Center. “Our commitment to the highest level of patient care is the foundation of everything we do. This national designation affirms to our community that the care provided by Jupiter Medical Center is the safest possible in Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast.”

“Achieving an ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade is a significant accomplishment for Jupiter Medical Center,” said Leah Binder, President and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “It reflects enormous dedication to your patients and their families, and your whole community should be proud. I extend my congratulations to Jupiter Medical Center, its leadership, clinicians, staff and volunteers for their tireless efforts to put patients first.”

Jupiter Medical Center consistently achieves the "A" rating for hospital performance and also was recognized as a Top General Hospital in 2023 by The Leapfrog Group, a distinction granted to only seven hospitals in the state.

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade stands as the only hospital ratings program focused solely on preventable medical errors, infections, and injuries. This program is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
