PSMA PET CT Scans

Jupiter Medical Center is offering PSMA PET imaging for improved prostate cancer detection and treatment. PSMA PET is an innovative technology that provides improved
imaging for identifying metastatic and recurrent prostate cancer. This imaging technique is changing the way aggressive prostate cancers are identified, making it easier to design a more targeted treatment plan for your patients. PSMA PET will significantly improve how prostate cancer is detected and treated.

Jupiter Medical Center is offering PSMA PET scans with Illuccix®, a radioactive diagnostic agent indicated for PET of prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) positive lesions in men with prostate cancer.

Who should consider PSMA PET?

  • Men with suspected metastasis who are candidates for initial definitive therapy
  • Men with suspected recurrence based on elevated serum prostate-specific antigen (PSA) level

How do I schedule a PSMA PET?

  • You will need an order from your physician, orders can be faxed to 561-263-4462.
  • Contact Jupiter Medical Center’s Central Scheduling Department at 561-263-4414 to schedule.

3T MRI for Prostate Cancer Diagnosis

What is a 3Tesla MRI?

A tesla is a unit of measurement, specifically measuring the strength of a magnetic field. Stronger magnetic fields produce clearer and more detailed Images, especially of soft tissues and organs than conventional MRI scanners.

The magnets used in 3 Tesla MRI, or 3T MRI, scans produce a magnetic field that’s twice as powerful as the fields used in high-field MRI scanners and 10 to 15 times stronger than an open MRI. All that power allows the 3T MRI to capture images with the tiniest abnormalities, improving the detection of prostate cancers often missed with other imaging technologies.

In addition, 3T MRI scans are much faster than traditional MRI scans. 3T MRI screenings may only take 15-20 minutes; a conventional MRI scan can take 30 or more minutes. This is the best and most accurate, non-invasive option for evaluation and diagnosis of the prostate.

You should consider a 3T MRI if you have:

• An elevated prostate-specific antigen (PSA) score
• An abnormal finding on your digital rectal exam (DRE)
• A history of negative traditional biopsies with continued concern for cancer

How do I schedule a 3T MRI?

• You will need an order from your physician, orders can be faxed to 561-263-4462.
• Contact Jupiter Medical Center’s Central Scheduling Department at 561-263-4414 to schedule.
